StatsCalculators.com ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our statistical calculator services. We prioritize transparency and user control over how data is processed.

We collect different types of information depending on how you use our services:

  • Standard Calculations (Anonymous Users): Any data you input for calculations is processed locally in your browser and is never transmitted to our servers. You can use our calculators without creating an account.
  • Account Information (Optional): If you create an account, we collect:
    • Email address (for authentication and account recovery)
    • Password (encrypted and securely stored via Supabase Auth)
    • Display name (optional)
    • Account tier information (Free, Pro, or Researcher)
  • Save to Browser (Free Users): When you use the "Save to Browser" feature, your calculation results are stored locally in your browser's localStorage. This data remains on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
  • Cloud Storage (Pro/Researcher Users): Pro and Researcher tier users can save their results to the cloud. This includes:
    • Calculation results and statistical outputs
    • Project information (name, description, tags)
    • Result metadata (titles, notes, tags, creation dates)
    • User preferences and settings
  • Share via Link: When you use the "Share" feature, only your calculation results (ANOVA tables, statistical outputs, charts, etc.) are sent to and stored on our servers. Your raw input data is never transmitted or stored. Shared results are assigned a random 8-character ID and are automatically deleted after 30 days.

3. Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics solution that does not use cookies or collect any personal information. The analytics data is completely anonymous and is used solely to understand overall website usage patterns and improve performance. 4. Data Processing

By default, all data you upload or input into our calculators is processed entirely within your browser. The data remains on your device and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Optional Sharing Feature: If you choose to use the "Share" feature, only the calculated results (not your raw input data) are transmitted to our servers. These results are stored for 30 days to enable link sharing, after which they are automatically deleted. Shared results are publicly accessible to anyone with the link.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party services to provide our features:

  • Supabase: We use Supabase for user authentication and cloud data storage (for Pro/Researcher users). Supabase is a secure, open-source platform that provides:
    • Encrypted user authentication and password storage
    • Secure database storage for saved results and projects
    • Data hosted on servers compliant with industry security standards

  • Upstash Redis: We use Upstash Redis for temporary caching and rate limiting to improve performance and security. Cached data includes:
    • Temporary calculation results (automatically expire)
    • API rate limiting data (no personal information)
    • Session data for improved performance

  • Stripe (Payment Processing): For Pro and Researcher tier subscriptions, we use Stripe to process payments. We do not store credit card information on our servers. All payment data is handled securely by Stripe. Stripe's privacy policy can be found at https://stripe.com/privacy

6. Data Security and Storage

We take data security seriously and implement industry-standard security measures:

  • All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS
  • Passwords are encrypted using bcrypt hashing and are never stored in plain text
  • User data is stored in secure, isolated database instances via Supabase
  • Access to user data is restricted and requires authentication
  • We regularly review and update our security practices

Data Retention: Your account data and saved results are retained as long as your account is active. Shared links expire and are automatically deleted after 30 days. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Access: You can access all your saved data through your account dashboard
  • Export: You can export your calculation results in JSON format
  • Delete: You can delete individual results, projects, or your entire account
  • Opt-out: You can choose not to create an account and use our calculators anonymously
  • Control: You can switch between browser storage and cloud storage at any time

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to anyone under the age of 13. As we do not collect personal information, we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page along with the updated "Last updated" date.
